Slot dies provide controlled, uniform application of hot melt adhesive across continuous web materials. Uniflow integrates slot die coating equipment with its hot melt drum unloaders and, where required, Acumeter processors to create complete adhesive delivery systems for Tape & Label, Web Coating, and Roll-to-Roll Converting applications.

For appropriate applications, Uniflow can supply hot melt directly to a slot die. At higher line speeds and flow rates, an Acumeter processor can provide additional temperature stability, precision metering, and supply buffering between the drum unloader and the coating head.

How the System Works

1 — Bulk Hot Melt Supply
Uniflow drum unloaders recover, melt, and transfer hot melt adhesive from 55-gallon drums, providing the upstream material supply for the coating process.
2 — Processing & Buffering — When Required

For higher-speed or higher-flow applications, an Acumeter processor can provide added temperature stability, precision metering, and supply buffering before the adhesive reaches the coating head.

3 — Slot Die Application

The slot die applies a controlled, uniform film of hot melt adhesive onto the moving web, supporting repeatable coat weight and consistent coverage.

System Capabilities

Uniflow drum unloaders recover, melt, and transfer hot melt adhesive to the coating system, creating a continuous supply path from the drum to the application point.

For suitable applications below 270 kg/hr (600 lbs/hr), Uniflow systems can feed a slot die directly without an intermediate processing stage.

At higher line speeds and flow rates, an Acumeter processor can provide additional supply buffering, temperature stability, and controlled metering before the adhesive reaches the slot die.

Uniflow can integrate partner-supported fixed-lip and rotary slot die configurations to match different coating and web-handling requirements.

Slot die equipment can be incorporated into existing OEM coating and converting lines as part of a coordinated hot melt delivery and application system.
